Don Ayers is a frontend developer and musician based in Los Angeles. Grew up in Manchester, Maine, spent his twenties playing in bands in Seattle, and eventually landed in LA.

On the dev side, he's the lead frontend developer at Care Continuity — a healthcare technology company building tools that help hospitals and care teams manage patient transitions and reduce readmissions. He owns the client-side architecture, works primarily in React and TypeScript, and cares a lot about interfaces that hold up under real-world pressure.

On the music side, he played drums in several Seattle bands across the 2000s and 2010s: Maps on Fire, Black Giraffe, Luminol, and Read Underwater. The projects ranged from indie rock to rock n' soul to experimental ambient — all documented on Bandcamp.

Outside of the day job he builds side projects. Riff is a browser-based music transcription app that runs Spotify's Basic Pitch entirely client-side. smolbot is a procedural platformer built as a testbed for AI agent evaluation. pixegen generates 2D pixel art assets programmatically. The common thread is curiosity about where software and music happen to overlap.
